The hype is not only about the water, delicious as it is. Tap’dNY is not your average water bottling company. In fact, you would think that making money is the last thing on the minds of Tap’dNY entrepreneurs.
…next time you’re in a NYC restaurant, don’t be surprised if the waiter asks you: Flat, sparkling, tap, or Tap’d?

TAP’D NY has an honest marketing strategy, which is a rarity when it comes to bottled water.
The design of the bottle is pretty swank and I think it’s a step in the right direction even though it doesn’t solve the plastic bottle problem completely.

Ultimately the idea is, if you’re going to have to buy bottled water, it should at least be coming from a local source instead of imported from around the world… we’re talking about water here, remember?
Oh sure, it’s filtered. But doesn’t that old saying apply? “You can take the water out of New York, but you can’t take the New York out of the water.
And if Tap’dNY succeeds in encouraging more New Yorkers to reuse and refill bottles from the tap, and to recycle bottles that can’t be reused anymore, it’ll certainly benefit the environment.
